Marseilles France Intercontinental Hotel

Let me tell you about a small miracle that happened last month in an InterContinental hotel in Marseille. The Intercontinental Marseille Hotel Dieu is one of the most popular hotels in the city of Marseille, France. Located on the Panier hill in the former old quarter of Lyon, it houses some of the best restaurants, bars, shops and hotels in France. It also offers a lot of amenities such as a restaurant, bar and spa, as well as an outdoor pool and spa.

If you visit Marseille, the InterContinental is really a choice to consider. With a very good location and service, you will be back again, and this will allow you to take full advantage of the city and make your Marseille experience unforgettable.

Our hotel of choice was the InterContinental Marseille Hotel Dieu, as this was our second stay at the InterContinentals in Marseille. We booked it with our husband, who had flown back with the Munkkins earlier, and we were able to book our room at the last minute with our points. After a great first stay, we had the same high expectations and our air conditioning worked well and had a large and beautiful balcony overlooking the terraces and restaurants of the old town of Marseille.

If you really want to get to know Marseille's past and present, you should buy the InterContinentals' Guide to the Old Town of Marseille (available here). If you're interested in art history, have a look at our article on art history in the Old Town and the Marseille Art Museum.

There are many ways to explore the heart of Marseille, with theatres, department stores and museums on your doorstep. Provence offers much instead of a more modest, urban day trip, but there is also a wide selection of hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops and restaurants in the city centre. There are a number of restaurants and bars as well as a wide range of shops, bars and cafes.

Hotel Dieu, located just off the Vieux Port, is a veritable palace entrance to the old town. Located at the end of a wing of the former Hotel dieu and overlooking the city centre and the harbour, it is one of the most famous hotels in Marseille. Designed by his nephew Mansart, this 5,000 square metre five-star hotel with its vaulted corridors, vaulted ceilings and balconies overlooks the city and offers great views of the Old Town and New Town, as well as the waterfront.

The interiors are modernist and reflect the traditional Mediterranean colours orchestrated by Jean-Philippe Nuel, but the decor has remained faithful to the spirit and history of this place. At the InterContinental Marseille Hotel Dieu, entrusted to one of France's leading interior designers and architects, each room features a décor dedicated to the spirit of history and place, evoking the transformation for which the renowned architect and his team of designers in luxury hotels that are being built here continue to be famous.

The Hotel Dieu is monumental compared to the C2 Le petit Nice and to be precise, it is the largest hotel of its kind in the world. Each floor of the new rooms has a new public space of 20,000 m2, like the old port of the Hotel dieu, which with a capacity of 1.5 million square meters is one of the largest public spaces in Marseille.

In a city not known for parks, the 17-hectare Borely is one of Marseille's most beautiful features. The Catholic basilica on the hill will be visible almost everywhere in the city through its compass, which offers a breathtaking panorama of the same fact. With its unique location, this listed building offers a beautiful view of what is affectionately called La Bonne Mere, perched on a hill just a few metres from the Basilica of Saint-Denis.

The food at the InterContinental France Marseille offers some of the best restaurants in Alcyone, as well as a number of other restaurants in the city. The restaurant, rated one of the top ten restaurants in France for food and drink, is the perfect place to experience the many different flavors to be found in Marseille. Not in any of the restaurants, but the food in their stand is as good as any other hotel in France, and as fine - as it is, it's a great alternative to the more traditional, more expensive options.

The InterContinental Marseille Hotel Dieu is dedicated to pampering children and offers a range of child-friendly facilities, including a children's playground and a children's playground. Located in the heart of Marseille, known for its more than 300 days of sunshine a year, the hotel is even more desirable. In 2013, it opened its old bakery, which dates back to 1781 and is now one of the most luxurious restaurants in Marseville.
